My blog has moved to:
So this is it, my official last post on SeventyCats.BlogSpot. I know to a lot of people it’s going to sound a little weird that I am commiserating this site but she has always been something that I have fallen back to in the best of times and as well as the worst. I think I have the posts to prove it. I know some more of you will say, Luke your crazy you still have the blog it’s just on another site. You’re right and the new site is bigger and better in almost everyway but it doesn’t have that old familiarity yet. I don’t feel like I own it.
All this makes me think about my 1994 Nissan Sentra. That car had 140,000 miles on it, at least 2 rust holes, 10 plus dents, cigarette burns from floor to ceiling and sounded a little strange the day it passed 110,000. I miss that car. It took me all over the Western United States like an ugly red spaceship. I can remember it being 10 below in Central Montana and being warm as can be in that Nissan and I can remember going from card room to card room in Las Vegas, chain smoking cigarettes slapping the sun cracked dashboard with anticipation. It was in that car that I rolled into San Diego one May afternoon with a half tank of gas, $50 in my pocket and all my worldly possessions. I guess is what I am saying is that I now have a car that is 15 years newer, has roughly 120,000 less miles on it, turns left when you turn it left and even stops when you hit the brakes but it ain’t the same. I could lose that car tomorrow and I wouldn’t lose sleep. I own it but it doesn’t have that feeling, it’s just a thing. The Nissan was more than that and so is this blogspot site. I can’t quantify it in words but this site has more value than the obvious. I’ll miss it.
Cheers,
Luke
